Maintenance

ProSun Onyx Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity of your equipment and that your units are operating at their full potential. Keeping a regular maintenance schedule will maintain the high quality of your equipment and ensure your clients are having the best experience possible.

After Each Session:
Clean bench and canopy acrylics
Inspect facial glass (if applicable)
Ensure click strip is firmly in place
Clean and sanitize bed exterior using manufacturer approved cleaning solutions only. (Never use ammonia or bleach based cleaning solutions).

Daily:
Inspect acrylic for cracks, wear, or hazing

Weekly:
Check voltage being supplied to bed to ensure it conforms with manufacturer’s guidelines
Inspect vent hoses for optimum ventilation
Clean all reflectors

Monthly:
Remove and clean the inside of both canopy and bench acrylic sheets
Dust the lamps
Wipe and vacuum fans, vents and vent hoses
Adjust shock tension (if needed)
Check combi set bolts for proper tightness
Check power cord and bench-to-canopy connector for tightness, wear, etc

ProSun Onyx Tanning Bed FAQs

What is the difference between the onyx models?: There are 4 different Onyx models offering the perfect selection for every business model. Some business owners want to offer the perfect 20 minute starter tanning bed, the Onyx 28 and 32 models are the right selection for that. Select either a 28 or 32 lamp bed for the entry level tanning bed at your salon. The ProSun Onyx 32 Sli and 32 Sli Intensive both come equipped with facial tanning and are available in a 15 and 12 minute model. You can select the perfect Onyx model for the membership packages you are creating or create a multi-level salon at an affordable price with our Onyx series.

How do I remove the acrylics on my Onyx?: In the corner of your end cap you will find an acrylic removal tool that can be used to open the click strips and remove the acrylic. Take the acrylic removal tool from the end cap and slide it under the click strip to lift them up. The click strips are located horizontally across the long sides of your tanning bed. Once they are lifted up but still in place, slide the tool under the acrylic and carefully remove the acrylic. We recommend always wearing gloves when performing cleanings or changing out the acrylics on your tanning bed.

What does an E1 error mean?: The E1 error can come from incorrect voltage to your tanning bed. ProSun recommends running your ProSun Onyx at a voltage of 218-230 volts, if you are below or above this voltage you will need a Buckbooster voltage regulator. Contact ProSun for assistance or to purchase a voltage regulator.
